I am questioning one thing how a site with a better than MAL can be dead, like mangabaka downfall was because they lack in UI and their user grown up, but this site is not that bad tbh.
Hi, I understand the sentiment, but development was discontinued in 2019 largely because of financial reasons. Nobody wants to talk about money but at some point you’ve grown up and you need to bring food on the table. Anime DBs / community sites aren’t the greatest money makers, so I had to pivot.
I still keep the site running and pay for the site’s server costs. After moving to a different data center the server costs went down significantly and it’s quite easy to sustain it now. However there is not enough money to support further development.
I hope it answers your question, though I realize that’s likely an unsatisfying reply.
ahh well i understand your situation and reason of this site downfall
As do I as well.
Any other projects you are working on? I am a big fan of this website and am also a computer science student. I would be very interested in working with you on something.
