Yuu Otosaka
Yuu is a first-year student at Hoshinoumi Academy and is the protagonist of Charlotte. He is rude and bad at studying. He usually behaves as if he were smart, but he is actually a chronic cheater. He says things which sound clever, and he is a narcissist. He has the ability to take over another person’s body for five seconds.
It is later revealed that he can use the ability of the person he takes over whilst in their body, as shown in episode 5.
In episode 8, it is shown that he is now kinder as he took the vocalist for the band Zhiend to see Nao Tomori’s older brother in the hospital in hopes that a miracle would happen.
In episode 9 it is revealed that Yuu and Ayumi were once being held captive in a research facility with their older brother. It was also revealed that Yuu had a stronger ability besides possession called Plunder which allows him to steal abilities from other people.
In episode 10, it is revealed that he plunders the abilities of the person he possesses.
In episode 11 it is revealed Yuu can’t time leap when one eye is injured which in a panic causes him to use collapse and Kumagami dies protecting Tomori.
In episode 12, he decides to travel overseas and take everyone’s power to save them as suggested by Tomori. He later confesses to Tomori that he loves her and they both make promise to meet again, and when they do they will become lovers.
In the last episode after gathering thousands of abilities he loses all his memories before his mission but survives and is able to live with his friends again.
