Katia Waldheim
A TSF pilot from West Germany, she is saved by Irisdina and Theodore from a BETA onslaught and subsequently defects to East Germany and joins the 666th Squadron. She dreams of reunifying Germany where both West and East Germans can focus on their common enemy: The BETA.
She reveals her real name as Ursula Strachwitz, the daughter of Alfred Strachwitz, a distinguished war hero of the Nationale Volksarmee who was executed after a failed coup d’etat against the German Socialist Unity Party five years prior. Ursula was born in East Germany but was smuggled out by her father to West Germany prior to his coup to protect her in case things went south.
After the Stasi takes total control of East Germany, she uses her status as a famous war hero’s daughter to ally with various anti-Stasi resistance groups, the Nationale Volksarmee, and West Germany. As the leader of the alliance, she then incites rebellion among the citizens of East Germany to embrace freedom and not fear the Stasi and subsequently removes the Stasi from power.
