The story tells the setbacks of Gintoki Sakata, former eccentric samurai and his 2 acolytes Shinpachi Shimura, who becomes his apprentice, and Kagura, a young girl with superhuman strength. Together they work as men doing everything to earn a living and help people. However, Gintoki is inevitably caught up by his dark past.
