Nie Ge
Before the beginning of the series, he was an assassin for Qin in his early years. At the request of his friend, he left the Empire to take care of his friend’s son, Jing Tianming. A prodigy of swordsmen, Ge Nie studied in the school Gui Gu alongside Wei Zhuang, his rival.
Ge Nie is able to single-handedly defeat 300 of the Elite Troops of Qin, and returning with only a few injuries. His swordsmanship is impressive, thus earning him the title of ‘Sword Saint’. He rarely smiles, or shows emotion, but is very protective of Tian Ming, who in turn adores Ge Nie very much and regards him as a role model. He is famed among swordsmen for his “Hundred Steps Flying Sword” technique.
He is very clear about what the meaning of being strong is and often reminds Tianming that chivalrous heroes do not fight others to prove themselves, but they help those who are small and frail.
