Ayaka Kisaragi

Say hello to the owner and president of Phantom Quest Corporation: Miss Ayaka Kisaragi. Ayaka comes from a family of ghost sweepers, but she didn’t like the traditional way of hunting ghosts (she particularly hated the training), so she decided to do things her own way and left the family to start her own paranormalist firm. Whether it is a blood-sucking vampire, a despicable demon, an exhibit haunted, or even competition to the business, Ayaka and her employees are on hand to put an end to it.

On the job, Ayaka is quick, serious, and determined, and though it doesn’t look so at first, she’s always ready for a fight with the undead. She is remarkably athletic, able to run at good speed and jump a good ways. Her primary weapon can be found in her cosmetics. What most think is a tube of lipstick is in reality her Red Dragon Spirit Capture Star Sword, a multipurpose light saber able to slice through many things at full power, extend when necessary, and create a mystical pentacle shield against evil energy. Ayaka can also throw her earrings, which can create a blinding flash.

Off the job, however, is a totally different story. Ayaka is crazy about three things: sake, karoake, and clothes. Usually, the first two end up together. She has frequent hangovers, yet she’s still smart enough in the mornings to shut off your basic alarm clock, forcing Mamoru to resort to other means of waking her up when necessary. She is also a confirmed fashion freak, her splurging eating into Phantom Quest’s much-needed profits.

And though she won’t admit it, she and Kozo Karino share a bit of a romantic relationship. At the least, she becomes concerned when he is in trouble.
