Viscount Campbell

A member of the “old money” rich people, whose wealth stemmed from aristocracy before them, Viscount Campbell was vehemently opposed to the Jones family, considered to be the “Nuveau Rich” or New Money, getting into high society by earning the money. This is evidenced when he shakes Mr. Jones’s hand at a party and as soon as he is out of sight, promptly throws the glove he was wearing away. Apparently, there is a problem with their wealth, as passing remarks made by other partygoers hinted at a family “only able to serve oysters at their parties.”
