In a world where ghosts and youkai prey on the living, a supernatural code of law is put in place that only executors can stop and bring to justice. Every crime committed by a spirit corresponds to a sentence, which may range from absolution, to paradise, to eternal banishment to hell; but if the punishment is found to be unjust, it is upon the executor that the sentence falls. We follow the investigations of Muhyo, a talented executor and his secretary Roji, legal experts specializing in ghost hunting.
