Dragon Ball Super

Notes:

Honestly the perfect sequel to Dragon Ball Z and surpasses it in most ways. Fantastic art and animation and great fights all throughout. Shoutouts to Goku, Freeza and Cyborg 17 for absolutely dominating the Tournament of Power.

Black arc was great, so were baseball and Arale fillers. Can't wait for the future arcs.

ToP sucks ass but can't wait for that clean new transformation

Ultra Instinct is awesome
What's really awesome about Ultra Instinct is its similarity to Super Saiyan 1's fundamental change in Goku's characteristics. SS1-4, SSG and SSB are all the exact same things being done with different visuals. You still punch the same, ki blast the same, fly the same etc. With Ultra Instinct it's different because we actually get to understand what Goku's doing differently. His arms and hands, legs and joints, everything is moving on its own individually and indifferently. Ultra Instinct has real world martial arts ties to Mushin, an art of clearing your mind and allowing your body to move on its own.
The cool thing about Super Saiyan, being in a fit of rage and changing your hair color, all that marketing stuff. It made us want to imitate them because it felt like a real thing that we could naturally do. Super Saiyan was genius because it was a grounded way of making you feel like the characters. Ultra Instinct is a natural progression of this line of thinking because being able to control every part of your body is a REAL thing we can ACTUALLY do and has ties to actual martial arts.
The fact that this isn't a Super Saiyan transformation, the fact that Whis and Beerus could already do it. It's amazing because it could theoretically mean anyone of any race could be this strong.
